There are a number of different solar hot water rebates available for installing solar hot water systems. The solar power grant or rebate you receive is dependent on where you live, and the type of solar hot water system that you are replacing or upgrading to. Check with your state or territory about grants for hot water in your jurisdiction. You can also sell the carbon credits (known technically as Small-scale Technology Certificates or ‘STCs’) generated by your solar hot water system. Depending on the number of STCs allocated to the system you install, and the market price for STCs and where you live, you could receive up to $2,000 in additional solar power grants.
There are further rebates available through the Victorian Government. The Sustainability Victoria rebate can be worth up to $1500. In addition to this, you can sell the Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs) generated by your system, similar to STCs. Navigating solar hot water rebates can be a maze! Our solar water Advisors can inform you about all the different rebates you are eligible for, so all you have to worry about is the final price after rebates.
