Rebates and RECs (Renewable Energy Certificates)

Because choosing renewable power for your hot water needs is such an important method of reducing greenhouse gases, the government has created a number of ways to reward you for making the right choice.
If you meet the criteria of each individual scheme you can claim at all three levels. Neco can assist you with this as part of our end to end service.

Rebates of $1000 are available in eligible circumstances to install solar and heat pump hot water systems. Basic conditions are as follows:
- Must replace and electric hot water system
- Principle place of residence
- Combined household income of less than $100,000
For full details, refer to the Australian Greenhouse Office website.

Some State Governments & local councils also offer generous rebates on the Neco range of solar hot water heaters.

For full details, refer to the Australian Greenhouse Office website.

RECs are a form of currency created by the Federal Government under the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000 which are used to incentivise investment in and uptake of solar energy systems.
They are tradable under the Government's Mandatory Renewable Energy Target (MRET) scheme. The price fluctuates. Go here to find out the current price.
All non-retro fit solar hot water systems in the Neco range are eligible for these generous Government Rebates (conditions apply). There are 4 Australian zones, which will determine the number of RECs for each installation. Click here to see REC zones for each postcode
Neco can handle the RECs component for you by exchanging it for a discount at the time of purchase instead. The value or this discount will vary with the current market rate. Ask your sales consultant for more info.
