Power-One 

Power-One has grown to rapidly become the second largest manufacturer of solar inverters in the world (after SMA). Their Aurora range of inverters are undoubtedly the world's most flexible, with dual Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) available from their 3.0kW model and above.  With an Aurora inverter you can start your PV system at 1kW and add one panel at a time if you wish, all the way up to 6kW depending on which model you install. Designed and manufactured in Italy, with its head office in California, we happily recommend Power-One inverters where systems smaller than 4kW demand installations on roofs with different orientations. 

Simple - the dual trackers. Let's say you want to install a 3kW system, but you can only fit 8 panels on your North-facing roof (a 3kW system typically requires 16 panels). Say you had enough space to place 8 panels on your West-facing roof - problem solved, right? No. A conventional inverter has what's called a single Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPT). This means that it can only optimise the production of panels on one roof at a time. meaning when your North-facing panels are producing electricity, your West-facing panels will be shut down. The Aurora inverter overcomes this by enabling the 2 strings of panels to feed into the inverter independently, so you can have a true 3kW system. This feature is also available on SMA 4000TL and 5000TL.
