The 7:30 Report on BlueGen this evening highlighted the Government's illogical viewpoint on BlueGen's eco credentials. Whilst BlueGen produces fewer emissions than solar power installations that rely on coal-fired generated electricity for base load power, the technology is currently inelligible for RECs under the RET scheme as natural gas is not "renewable". The stupidity of the Government's stand is exacerbated by the fact that heat pump hot water services, powered by coal-fired generated electricity, is eligible for RECs.
