What is LED lighting?
LED (Light Emitting Diode) lighting is the future of lighting. LED lamps use a fraction of the energy of regular lamps, produce a beautiful flicker-free light, and can last up to 50,000 hours. And the great news is that LED lamps are now a viable replacement for power-hungry halogen lamps that many homes and businesses have installed.
Halogen lamp replacements
A standard 50 watt low-voltage halogen down light operating for 4 hours a day will cost around $25 per year to run. Based on an average life of 3,000 hours the down light will last for two years before requiring replacement. By comparison, a 5 watt LED down light operating for 4 hours a day will cost around $6 per year to run. And the news gets better – an LED lamp has a life of up to 35,000 hours or 24 years, and produces only a fraction of the radiant heat of a halogen lamp, making your home or business more comfortable.
Comparable light output as halogen down lights
