community programs

Neco’s involvement brings your community programs and campaigns to life and leads to improved awareness, rapid take-up and increased energy and water saving results. We can tailor projects and programs to meet your objectives. Our projects include:

dump the downlight - With council funding and support, Neco works with local electricians to retrofit energy guzzling halogen downlights with efficient CFL downlights.

insulation projects - This awareness campaign demonstrates to residents how to insulate their homes appropriately, save hundreds of dollars of their energy bills and tonnes of greenhouse gases on cooling and heating their homes. We also provide recommendations on how to retrofit existing glazing to achieve a higher insulation value. With council funding, we train local installers to use and install the most appropriate insulation.

solar energy – Once residents’ homes have been made more efficient and are properly insulated, the requirements for solar hot water and solar PV can be effectively scoped. With council funding, we train local installers to use and install the recommended products.
